10m Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose with Karcher and Lavor Adapters

A slow drain is annoying. A fully blocked one stops the household in its tracks. Most of the time the cause is not deep in the sewer, it is a soft plug of leaves, silt, grease or soap scum sitting somewhere in the first few metres of pipe. This 10 metre pressure washer drain jetter hose is made for exactly that job. You feed it into the drain, pull the trigger on your pressure washer, and water does the digging.

10m Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose with Karcher and Lavor Adapters

The working end carries four jets that point backwards rather than forwards. That arrangement does two things at once. The backward thrust drives the hose along the pipe on its own, so you are guiding it rather than shoving it, and the same jets scour the pipe wall as they pass, pushing loosened muck back toward the opening where you can rinse it away. It is the same principle commercial jetting trucks use, scaled down to a domestic machine.

10m Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose with Karcher and Lavor Adapters

The hose itself is black PVC with a 40 mm outside diameter and a maximum pressure rating of 200 bar, which covers the output of typical home pressure washers. It is flexible enough to follow bends in a downpipe or gully trap, and at 10 metres it reaches further than a short rod set. The supplier lists the length as 1000 cm and the product dimensions as 10 L x 0.02 W metres.

10m Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose with Karcher and Lavor Adapters

Two connection options come in the box. There is an adapter for Karcher machines and a sewer cleaning hose fitting for LAVOR pressure washers, so a large share of common domestic units are covered straight away. Check the quick-connect style on your own lance before ordering if you run a different brand, since fitting standards do vary between manufacturers.

10m Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose with Karcher and Lavor Adapters

Because the tool works with water alone, there is nothing caustic going down the pipe and nothing left sitting in the trap if the blockage does not shift on the first pass. That matters for older pipework, for septic systems, and for anyone who would rather not handle drain chemicals at all. Rinse the hose through after the job, check the jets are clear, and it is ready for the next time.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

A drain part has to fit the drain you have, and you cannot always judge that from a photograph. If it is not right for you, send it back within 14 days of delivery in resaleable condition and we refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. That is a voluntary policy we offer on top of your legal rights.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 cover you, and we pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this drain jetter hose actually do?

It converts a domestic pressure washer into a drain clearing tool. You feed the hose into a blocked drain and the water pressure scours the pipe while pushing the hose further along. It is one of the simplest ways to deal with a soft blockage without calling anyone out.

How long is the hose?

It is 10 metres long, listed by the supplier as 1000 cm. That reaches well past most gully traps, downpipe bends and the first few joints of a stormwater run. For most household blockages the problem sits inside that range.

What pressure can it handle?

The maximum pressure is listed as 200 bar. That covers the output of typical domestic high pressure washers. Always check your own machine's rating and never exceed the hose limit.

Which pressure washers does it fit?

It ships with an adapter for Karcher machines and a sewer cleaning hose fitting for LAVOR pressure washers. Other brands may work if their lance connector matches one of those two fittings. Compare your quick-connect before ordering.

Will it fit a Karcher K2 through K7?

The included Karcher adapter is intended for the common Karcher domestic quick-connect used across that family of machines. Check the connector on your lance against the adapter photos if you are unsure. Fittings can change between model generations.

What is the hose made from?

Polyvinyl chloride, listed by the supplier as PVC, in black. The outside diameter is 40 mm and the nominal wall thickness is given as 1. It is flexible enough to follow bends in household pipework.

How do the jets work?

Four jets at the nozzle point backwards instead of forwards. The reverse thrust pulls the hose deeper into the pipe, and the same spray strips build-up off the pipe wall and flushes it back toward the drain opening.

Does it pull itself along the pipe?

Yes, that is the point of the rear-facing jets. Once the nozzle is in the pipe and the trigger is pulled, the hose advances with very little push from you. Your job is mainly to guide it and keep it feeding smoothly.

Do I need drain chemicals as well?

No. One of the main reasons people choose a chemical free drain cleaner approach is that the water does the work on its own. If the blockage is a hard root mass or a collapsed pipe, jetting will not fix it and you need a plumber.

What kinds of blockages will it clear?

Soft build-up is the sweet spot, so leaves, silt, grease, soap scum, hair and general sludge. It is also good for a general flush-through before the wet season. Solid obstructions and tree roots are a different problem.

Can I use it on a downpipe?

Yes, downpipes and gutter outlets are a common use. A best downpipe cleaning hose job is usually feeding from the bottom upward so gravity helps the debris fall out. Stand clear of the opening when you pull the trigger.

Is it safe for PVC house drains?

Water jetting is gentler on pipework than mechanical cutting, but pressure still matters. Start at a lower setting if your washer allows it and work up. If the pipe is old, cracked or already damaged, get it inspected first.

Can I use it on a septic system?

Since it uses only water, nothing goes into the tank that would upset the bacteria the way a caustic product might. Keep the jetting to the pipe runs rather than the tank itself. Check with your installer if you are unsure about your setup.

How do I get the hose into the drain?

Insert the nozzle a good arm's length into the pipe before you pull the trigger, so the jets cannot kick it back out at you. Once water is flowing the hose will start to feed itself. Keep both hands on the hose and feed it steadily.

Why should I not trigger it outside the pipe?

Four high pressure jets firing in open air will whip the hose around and spray back at you. It is the single most common mistake with any sewer jetter kit. Always have the nozzle well inside the pipe first.

What safety gear should I wear?

Eye protection is essential, plus gloves and closed shoes. Drain water comes back out carrying grit and bacteria, so keep your face clear of the opening. Long sleeves are sensible if you are working on a foul drain.

Can I pull it back out under pressure?

Release the trigger before you withdraw it past the pipe opening. Pulling a live nozzle out of a drain is how people get sprayed. Feed it in with the water on and draw it out slowly with the water off.

How many passes does a blockage usually take?

Often two or three. The first pass bores through, and the following passes widen the channel and scrub the walls. Working the hose back and forth over the same stretch does more than one long push.

Does it come with a lance or a washer?

No, it is an accessory for a pressure washer you already own. The included components are one Karcher adapter and one sewer cleaning hose fitting for LAVOR machines.

Can two lengths be joined together?

This is supplied as a single 10 metre length and the maker does not list a coupling for joining hoses. Trying to improvise a join is not recommended at 200 bar. If you need more reach, a longer purpose-built hose is the safer option.

How do I clean it after use?

Run clean water through it for a minute or two once the job is done, then wipe the outside down. Check the four jets and clear any grit with a fine pin. Let it dry before storing.

How should I store it?

Coil it loosely rather than kinking it tight, and hang it or lay it flat somewhere dry. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat and sharp edges. PVC lasts longer when it is not baked or crushed.

Will cold weather affect it?

PVC stiffens in the cold, so let the hose warm up before you uncoil it hard. Also drain it fully after use in freezing conditions so no water is left inside the jets. A quick shake and a warm spot overnight usually does it.

What are the spare parts arrangements?

The maker notes an EU spare part availability duration of 5 years. The maker does not state other warranty details. Keep your order confirmation for any claims.

What colour is it?

Black. The supplier lists the material as PVC and the colour simply as black, with no alternative colours in the maker's details.

How heavy is it?

The weight is not specified by the maker. As a guide, a 10 metre PVC hose of this diameter is comfortable to carry and coil by hand, but we will not quote a figure we do not have.

Is it any better than drain rods?

Rods push a blockage along. Jetting cuts through it and flushes the debris out, and it cleans the pipe wall at the same time. Plenty of people keep both, since rods are better for a solid obstruction.

Can I use it for anything besides drains?

The main uses are drains, downpipes, stormwater pipes and gullies. Some people use it to flush out agricultural drainage lines and pool pipework. Always match the pipe size and condition to the job.

How is it delivered and can I return it?

It ships as a standard parcel to your delivery address, and tracking is sent once it leaves the warehouse. If it arrives damaged or faulty, contact us with photos and we will sort out a replacement or refund. Unused items in original packaging can be returned under our standard returns policy.

What if it turns out not to be right for my machine or my drain?

Get in touch before you use it and we will help you check the fitting against your pressure washer. If it is genuinely the wrong tool for your situation and the item is unused and in its packaging, we will arrange a return. We would rather you had the right gear than a hose sitting in the shed.

How To Choose And Use A Pressure Washer Drain Jetter Hose

6 min read Drains Company

The problem with a slow drain

You notice it before you admit it. The laundry gully takes a bit longer to empty. The outside drain holds a puddle after rain. Then one day it backs up properly and you are standing over it with a bucket, wondering who to call.

Here is the thing most people do not realise. The vast majority of household blockages are not catastrophic. They are soft. Years of leaf litter, grit washed off the roof, soap scum, cooking grease and hair build up into a plug that narrows the pipe until the flow finally gives up. That kind of blockage responds very well to water pressure. It does not need a plumber with a camera and a cutting head. It needs something that can get in there and blast the gunk loose.

That is what a drain jetter hose does. You already own the pump. This is the attachment that points it down the pipe.

How a jetter hose works

The clever part is at the far end. The nozzle has four small jets and they all point backwards, toward you, rather than forwards into the blockage. It sounds wrong the first time you hear it.

Two things happen when you pull the trigger. First, those backward jets create thrust, and the thrust drags the hose deeper into the pipe. You are not pushing it. You are feeding it, and it travels on its own. Second, the same spray hits the pipe wall at an angle and scrapes build-up off it, then carries that debris back toward the drain opening where it can wash away.

Compare that to drain rods. Rods are a shoving tool. They can punch a hole through a blockage so water flows again, but the gunk is still in the pipe and the pipe wall is still coated. Jetting clears the channel and cleans the walls, which is why the drain usually stays clear longer afterwards.

The hose in this product is 10 metres long, which the supplier also writes as 1000 cm. That is a useful distance. It takes you past the gully trap, around the first bend, and well into a stormwater run. Most of the blockages that bother a normal house sit inside that first 10 metres.

What the specs mean in practice

A few numbers matter when you are comparing a best drain jetter hose option against another.

Pressure rating is the first. This one is rated to a maximum of 200 bar. Domestic pressure washers generally sit below that, so you have headroom. Never run an accessory above its rating, and if your machine is a high-output commercial unit, check the figures carefully before connecting anything.

Material and diameter come next. This hose is PVC with a 40 mm outside diameter and a listed nominal wall thickness of 1. PVC gives you flexibility, which is what lets the hose follow a bend instead of jamming against it. A stiffer hose reaches further in a straight run but fights you at every elbow, and household drains are full of elbows.

Then there is the fitting. This is where people get caught out. Pressure washer connectors are not universal. This kit includes an adapter for Karcher machines and a sewer cleaning hose fitting for LAVOR pressure washers, which covers a big slice of the domestic market. If you run something else, look at your lance connector and compare it to the adapters before you order.

Who it suits

If you have a pressure washer sitting in the shed and a drain that keeps playing up, this is an easy decision. The hose costs a fraction of a single callout and you can use it as often as you like.

It suits anyone with a lot of trees near the roofline, because leaf matter in downpipes is relentless. It suits people on acreage with long stormwater runs. It suits anyone on a septic system who would rather not pour caustic product into their pipework, since a chemical free drain cleaner approach keeps the tank bacteria happy. And it suits landlords and property managers who need a best DIY drain clearing kit in the van for routine maintenance across a few properties.

It does not suit every problem. If you have tree roots in a clay line, a crushed pipe, or a blockage you cannot reach from any opening, water pressure will not save you. Jetting will tell you fairly quickly that something hard is in the way. At that point, stop and get a professional with a camera.

Using it without making a mess of yourself

The first rule matters more than any other. Get the nozzle well inside the pipe before you pull the trigger. A good arm's length is the minimum. If you trigger four high pressure jets in open air, the hose becomes a snake and sprays drain water straight back at you. Everyone who has done it once never does it twice.

Wear eye protection. Wear gloves. Wear closed shoes and keep your face out of the line of the drain opening, because whatever comes back out is not clean.

Feed the hose in steadily with both hands. Let the jets do the pulling and simply guide the slack. When you feel resistance, that is the blockage. Hold there for a moment and let the water work, then ease forward. Do not force it.

Once you are through, work the hose back and forth over the same stretch a few times rather than pushing straight to the end and pulling out. The back-and-forth passes are what actually clean the pipe wall. Two or three passes is normal.

When you are done, release the trigger before you withdraw the nozzle past the pipe opening. Then flush the drain with plain water from the hose to carry the loosened debris away.

Looking after it

This is a simple tool and it lasts if you treat it sensibly.

Run clean water through the hose for a minute after every job. Grit that dries inside the jets is the main cause of a weak or lopsided spray pattern later. Check the four jets and clear any that look blocked with a fine pin, not a drill bit.

Let the hose dry before you coil it, and coil it loose. Tight kinks are what kill PVC. Store it out of direct sun and away from anything hot or sharp. In freezing weather, make sure no water is trapped inside before it goes away for the night.

Before each use, run your hand down the length and look for cuts, bulges or soft spots. Check the adapter threads too. A damaged high pressure hose is not worth the risk.

The short version

A drain jetter hose is one of those accessories that pays for itself the first time you use it. It plugs into a pressure washer you already own, reaches 10 metres down the pipe, and clears soft blockages with water instead of chemicals. The four rear-facing jets pull the hose along and scour the pipe as they go, so the drain stays clear longer than it would after a quick poke with a rod.

This one is black PVC, 40 mm outside diameter, rated to 200 bar, and comes with a Karcher adapter plus a sewer cleaning hose fitting for LAVOR machines. Check your connector, keep the nozzle in the pipe before you squeeze the trigger, rinse it out afterwards, and it will handle the routine drain maintenance around your place for years.
